Orthopedic & Medical-Surgical Nursing – Bowling Green, KY

Position Overview

Join a combined orthopedic and medical-surgical unit providing care to patients across both specialties. This is a 13-week contract position working days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).

The Role

You'll manage a patient load in a fast-paced inpatient environment, collaborating with PCTs, support nurse externs, and unit secretaries. Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education. Some physicians perform bedside procedures on the unit; however, this is not a high-procedure volume area.

Floating & Scheduling

You'll work four weekend shifts per month (typically three Saturdays and one Sunday). The schedule runs in 4-week increments. Expect to float to other inpatient units to assume patient care, and occasionally assist with tasks in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Emergency Department (ED).

Requirements

• Current RN or LPN license
• BLS certification
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients and deliver patient-centered care
• All experience levels welcome

Dress Code

Scrub top and bottoms (colors TBD). Long sleeves under your scrub top or jacket permitted. No fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, denim, camo, or shoes with holes.

• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment
