Labor & Delivery / Perinatal Travel Nurse — Los Angeles, CA
13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Days | 36 Hours Guaranteed/Week
This high-volume Labor & Delivery and Perinatal unit serves patients from 20 weeks gestation through postpartum, with a strong focus on high-risk obstetrics. Patients include those with hypertensive disorders, multiple gestations, gestational diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance use — requiring confident, experienced clinical judgment.
Shift Details
- 12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- One major and two minor holidays
- First to float: L&D floats to antepartum and postpartum
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; travel experience preferred
- C-section circulating experience required; scrubbing preferred
- Hands-on experience with high-risk deliveries, Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- OB/Neonatology coverage and respiratory therapy available 24/7
- Two OB techs per shift assist with deliveries and c-sections
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
Additional Details
- Scrubs provided; sterile environment required
- Acrylic or overlay nails are not permitted
- Orientation: 3 shifts on unit
