Respiratory Therapist – Critical Care | Boston, MA

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This critical care Respiratory Therapist position is based in Boston, MA, supporting a high-acuity inpatient environment covering both medical and surgical ICU populations. The role requires strong independent clinical judgment and active participation on the Code Blue team.

Shift Details

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Clinical Scope

• Manage ventilated patients across MICU and SICU settings
• Apply lung-protective ventilation strategies based on patient assessment and laboratory data
• Make independent ventilator adjustments in response to clinical changes
• Support NICU patients as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience in a high-acuity critical care setting
• Recent MICU and SICU experience required
• RRT certification
• Active Massachusetts Respiratory Care License
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level III NICU
• NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist) certification
• ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) certification

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be compensated at a local rate
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Anticipated start: November 2026
