Labor & Delivery / Perinatal RN — Travel Contract
Los Angeles, CA | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
This active Labor & Delivery/Perinatal unit serves a high-volume, high-acuity patient population, managing 20+ weeks gestation through delivery and postpartum care. The unit sees approximately 200 births per month, with a strong focus on complex, high-risk cases including gestational hypertension, multiples, gestational diabetes, patients without prenatal care, and substance-exposed pregnancies.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts (7 AM – 7 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- One major and two minor holidays
Clinical Scope
- High-risk antepartum and intrapartum care
- C-section experience required (circulating); scrubbing preferred
- Proficiency with Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips required
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Floats to antepartum and postpartum as needed
- 2 OB attendings and 1 neonatologist available in-house 24/7
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
- OB techs assist with deliveries and circulate for C-sections
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years L&D experience
- High-risk delivery experience required
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring — all required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- No acrylic or overlay nails permitted during assignment
Additional Details
- Scrubs provided; sterile scrubs required
- Unit orientation: 3 shifts
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- BSN not required
