Clinical Pharmacist — Inpatient / Acute Care
Houston, TX | Evening Shift | 13-Week Contract
This pharmacy position is based within a high-acuity academic medical setting serving a complex, global patient population. The pharmacy team supports advanced cardiac care, comprehensive oncology services, and multi-organ transplantation programs (heart, lung, liver, and kidney).
Shift & Schedule
- Evening shift: 12:30–21:00 or 13:30–22:00
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts canceled per 13-week contract
Core Responsibilities
- Second verification for hazardous medications
- Processing and verification of TPN medications
- Product preparation verification for both hazardous and non-hazardous compounds
- Compounding of non-sterile hazardous and non-hazardous medications
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and completing required tracking (daily cleans and related documentation)
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and rotating learners in an academic environment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical background required
- BLS certification required
- Active pharmacist license required for submission
- Prior experience with hospital inpatient pharmacy workflow strongly preferred
