Respiratory Therapist – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join its respiratory department, providing care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings. You'll manage 50–75+ treatments per day depending on census, working in a collaborative team environment with strong manager support.

Schedule & Staffing

• 3 × 12-hour shifts: Monday and Tuesday days (5:45 AM–6:15 PM), alternating Wednesday and Friday nights
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Flexible scheduling; manager accommodates requests when possible
• Opportunity to pick up extra shifts

Clinical Scope

You'll provide comprehensive respiratory support:

• Ventilator management and monitoring
• CPAP/BiPAP setup and management
• High-flow nasal cannula therapy
• Aerosol therapy (nebulizers, MDIs, airway clearance)
• ABG draws and blood gas analysis
• Nocturnal pulse oximetry (outpatient)

Patient Population

Primarily adult patients; ED rotation includes pediatrics and neonates (including L&D). Future cross-training opportunities in sleep lab, pulmonary, and cardiac rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• RRT preferred (CRT acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ventilatory management skills; ability to work independently
• Pediatric experience helpful but not required
• First-time travelers welcome

Support & Orientation

• 2–3 days department-specific orientation
• 24/7 manager availability (on-call nights/weekends)
• No charge RT; all therapists work collaboratively
• One therapist assigned to ED daily for lighter patient load

• 2 shifts cancellation allowance per contract period
