Neuro Med/Surg RN — Nashville, TN
Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Neuro Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract beginning November 2026. The unit manages neurological and medical/surgical patients requiring close monitoring and skilled, compassionate care.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Two weekends (four shifts) per four-week schedule
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Clinical Scope
Nurses on this unit provide care for neuro and med/surg patients, with responsibilities including IV insertion, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts; a unit secretary is on-site from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Float Policy
Contract staff float first; rotation applies when multiple contract staff are scheduled.
Patient Experience
Bedside shift reporting is standard practice. Nurses are expected to build personal connections with patients and actively involve patients and families in the plan of care.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Med/Surg experience required
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage complex patient needs
