Position Overview
The facility seeks a compassionate, flexible Registered Nurse for its Labor and Delivery unit. This is a 12-week contract position offering 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
- McAllen, TX
Unit Overview
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide direct care during active labor and delivery
- Manage antepartum patients with complex medical and obstetric conditions
- Circulate in the OR for surgical cases (preferred experience)
- Monitor fetal heart tones and labor progression
- Administer and titrate medications including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
- Float to antepartum and postpartum OB units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications
- Competency in intermittent fetal monitoring
- Labor management experience (required)
