Labor & Delivery Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Wichita, Kansas. This is a night shift role offering stability and predictable scheduling.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Clinical Role
You'll deliver skilled intrapartum and postpartum care in a busy L&D unit. Your responsibilities will include labor support, fetal monitoring, delivery assistance, and immediate postpartum care. You may be asked to float to similar units on the same campus or to other campuses within Wichita as needed.
Requirements
- Active nursing license (verification through Nursys)
- Current professional references and education verification
- Background check clearance
- Standard onboarding assessments: Specialty Exam, Core Competencies, EKG Exam, and EHR competency testing
- Required immunizations and health screening (MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB screening, and fit test)
What to Expect
Laundered scrubs are provided. You'll work within the facility's established EHR system and follow standard protocols for L&D nursing practice. The onboarding process includes skills validation and unit-specific orientation.
