Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
Position Overview
Join the facility's acute care unit for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) on a 12x3 schedule with guaranteed 36 hours weekly.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
This unit specializes in caring for older adults (65+) with acute medical and surgical diagnoses, including trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collision injuries. You'll manage acute medications, Heparin drips, and telemetry monitoring. The unit prioritizes hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility protocols, pressure injury prevention, and fall prevention strategies.
What You'll Bring
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Documented medical/telemetry experience with completed competency checklist
- Experience in geriatrics, trauma, and orthopaedic trauma care
- Comfort with family communication and involvement in patient care
- Familiarity with mobility aids, geriatric-specific equipment, and physical therapy protocols
Work Environment
You'll work within a structured care team supporting patients with complex acute needs. Family involvement is valued, and you'll coordinate care across interdisciplinary partners.
