Cardiac ICU RN — Travel Contract | Redding, CA

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This Cardiac ICU position focuses on high-acuity cardiac and mixed ICU patients. Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience with fresh post-open-heart surgery patients, as well as a broad mixed ICU background. A proctored Dysrhythmia Test is administered on-site on day one — this is a pass/fail requirement.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend; holiday requirement possible
• Self-scheduling with manager review approximately 6 weeks in advance

Unit Details

• High-acuity cardiac ICU environment
• Ventilator management required
• Continuous telemetry monitoring in use
• Hospitalist coverage in-house 24/7; respiratory therapy and pharmacy support 24/7
• Charge nurses do not carry a patient assignment; no nurse aides on unit
• 1-day unit-specific orientation provided

Float & Cancellation

• First to float to telemetry or med-surg units as needed
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week assignment

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS

Additional Requirements

• Active CA RN license (agency willing to wait for licensure)
• BSN not required
• Navy scrubs
