Operating Room - RN / OR Tech
Position Overview
Join the OR team for a 13-week contract. You'll work four 10-hour shifts weekdays (6:45 AM–5:15 PM) with call responsibilities on weekday nights and weekends.
Unit Details
The OR offers a robust orthopedic program, including total joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders), sports medicine, arthroscopies, and ROSA robot-assisted procedures. You'll also see general surgery cases (bowel resections, cholecystectomies, appendectomies), scopes, EGD procedures, breast biopsies, mastectomies, gynecologic cases (C-sections, hysterectomies), urology, plastics, and ENT procedures.
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required
- CST highly preferred for OR techs
- Valid driver's license with address outside 50 miles
- COVID vaccination required (exemptions considered with approved form)
- Strong OR experience preferred; first-time travelers with solid backgrounds considered
Schedule & Call
- Guaranteed 40 hours/week
- Weekend rotation: approximately 1 weekend every 6–7 weeks
- Call: 3–4 shifts/month (weekday 7 AM–7 PM; weekend 24-hour shifts); 30-minute response time
- Call-outs are rare and typically occur at end-of-day
- 2-shift cancellation allowance per 13-week contract
Orientation
3 shifts with a preceptor in the department following general hospital orientation.
