Neuro Critical Care RN – Night Shift | Atlanta, GA

Contract: 16 Weeks | Shift: Nights, 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This Neuro ICU assignment focuses on high-acuity adult patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. The unit is staffed with EEG technicians on-site and has immediate access to CT imaging, making it a clinically rich environment for experienced neuro critical care nurses.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizure disorders
• Post-operative craniotomy and complex spinal surgery patients
• Aneurysm coilings/clippings and thrombectomies

Procedures & Monitoring

• Intracranial pressure monitoring
• External ventricular drain management
• Continuous sedation, vasopressors, and vasodilators
• Mechanical ventilation and cerebral oximetry monitoring

Interdisciplinary Support

IV therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response, social services, phlebotomy, and interpretation services are all available on unit.

Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Certifications Preferred: CCRN

Minimum Experience: 1 year in a relevant ICU setting; first-time travelers accepted

Licensure: Georgia RN or Compact license required

Scheduling Details

• Call: Agency staff called after core staff
• Float: Required
• Max RTO: 7 days per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Orientation: 40 hours; no RTO permitted during orientation week

Compliance

Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing. All compliance documents are due the Tuesday prior to start date.
