Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse | Nights | Portsmouth, NH

This 13-week travel contract places you on an inpatient medical-surgical unit in Portsmouth, NH, working night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend and rotating holidays required.

Unit Overview

The unit manages a general medical-surgical patient population with telemetry monitoring capability. LNAs are available on both shifts to support bedside care. Self-scheduling is offered, though leadership may adjust for balance.

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit are expected to perform and manage:

• Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Wound care
• Drain management (chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt, and similar)
• Foley catheter insertion
• Central line dressing changes
• Telemetry monitoring
• PRN EKGs

Patient experience standards include bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections rounding protocols. Float requirements are limited to the same level of care.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hospital-based nursing experience
• Active RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification
• IV certification required
• Med-Surg experience required
