Join a psychiatric unit in Wichita, KS on a 13-week night shift contract. This role involves caring for adult behavioral health patients in an inpatient psych setting, with an emphasis on therapeutic intervention, psychiatric assessment, and mental health stabilization.
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4 x 12 nights)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call obligations
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 8, 2026
Float Requirements
Candidates should be prepared to float to like psychiatric units on the same campus or to another campus within the Wichita area.

Onboarding Requirements
- EKG competency exam
- Core competency assessment
- Point-of-care glucose testing competency (StatStrip)
- Immunization records: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-Spot)
- Fit test, health statement, color vision screening
- 11-panel drug screen
- Background check and education/employment verification
Strong psychiatric nursing experience is essential for this role. Candidates with inpatient behavioral health backgrounds and familiarity with EKG interpretation are encouraged to apply.
