Occupational Therapist — Inpatient Behavioral Health
Somerville, MA | 13-Week Contract | Days
This role places an Occupational Therapist within an inpatient behavioral health setting, working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The position involves floating across various units and serving a pediatric and adolescent patient population (ages 4–18) with neurodevelopmental and/or psychiatric diagnoses.
Schedule
- 5 x 8-hour day shifts, primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Some flexibility required; Saturday coverage possible with a corresponding weekday off
Clinical Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive OT evaluations
- Facilitate group and individual treatment sessions
- Work with patients presenting with psychiatric diagnoses and neurodevelopmental conditions across the pediatric/adolescent age range
Required Qualifications
- BS, MS, or OTD in Occupational Therapy
- Current Massachusetts OT licensure
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of OT experience
- Inpatient pediatric and/or mental health experience (ages 4–18) required
- Travel experience required; candidates without travel experience must demonstrate significant, directly relevant experience in this setting
Submission Requirements

- Two recent supervisor/manager references matching this specialty

Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
- Anticipated start: November 2026
