About the Role
Join the emergency department at the facility in Lufkin, TX. You'll care for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced setting with 80–90 patients daily across 243 treatment bays.
Clinical Scope
This ED manages high-acuity patients including trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac cases. You'll work with a full complement of resources: in-house security, charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, patient sitters, and respiratory therapy. The department includes a fast track and area (you may assist with occasionally). ER RNs manage their own holds, which are intermixed within the main ED. You must be comfortable reading ECG rhythms independently—there are no monitor technicians on staff. Radiology (X-ray and CT) is next to the ED with transport provided. Phlebotomy draws are performed by tech or RN.
