Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 12-hour nights, Friday–Monday | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Unit
This Orthopedic/Telemetry unit focuses on patients undergoing joint replacements, fracture management, and related orthopedic care. The unit is supported by a charge nurse 24/7 and CNAs on every shift.
Schedule
Weekend night rotation covering Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation. Call/standby requirements are to be confirmed.
Float Requirements
Float may be required to adjacent medical-surgical units within the same facility.
Clinical Requirements
- Strong orthopedic nursing experience required
- Total Joint Replacement experience is required — fracture experience alone does not meet this requirement
- Telemetry monitoring is present on the unit; RNs are not required to read strips
- Drip titration is not required on this unit
Certifications & Credentials
- BLS (required)
- Active RN license (facility willing to wait for licensure)
- BSN not required
- COVID-19 vaccination required; medical/religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review
Additional Details
- Orientation: 1–2 shifts on the unit
- Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
