Operating Room First Assist – Surgical Services
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced OR First Assist to join the surgical team. This is a 13-week contract position working day shifts.
Shift & Schedule
- 4×10-hour shifts: 12:30 PM – 8:00 PM
- On-call requirement: Approximately 8 days per 6-week schedule
- Weekday kidney call (Monday–Friday): 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Weekend kidney call (Saturday–Sunday): 24 hours (6:00 AM – 6:00 AM)
- Weekend general call (Saturday–Sunday): 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Holiday general call: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no kidney call on holidays)
- Flexible: 4×10 or 3×12 schedules accepted
- Holiday commitment: Must work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Requirements
- License & Certification: California license, BLS, CRNFA
- Experience: Minimum 3 years scrubbing and circulating in the OR; at least 1 year transplant experience (hard requirement)
- Clinical Proficiency: Robotics, bariatric, general, colorectal, ortho/spine, vascular, urology, gynecology, and cardiovascular procedures
Key Responsibilities
You'll assist on a diverse surgical case load including vascular repairs, CABG, TAVR, organ transplant, and laparoscopic/robotic cases. You may float to nearby sister facilities as needed.
