Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN — Night Shift

Fredericksburg, TX | 13-Week Contract | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This Medical-Surgical unit provides care for a diverse patient population requiring telemetry monitoring, post-operative recovery, and general med-surg management. The team operates collaboratively across day and night shifts, with each shift supported by a charge nurse, RN/LVN staff, and patient care aides.

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry monitoring, post-op care, CBI, cardiac and heparin drips
• Wound care (including wound vac management), phototherapy, IV starts
• NGT placement, foley care, PCA/epidural/pain pump management
• Admissions, discharges, hourly rounding, and bedside reporting

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Required: Telemetry experience, post-operative care experience
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale certification

Schedule & Expectations

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Every-other-weekend commitment (or 2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Holiday coverage required; PTO must be pre-approved

• Float requirement: ICU for Med-Surg overflow
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: September 25, 2026
