Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology
Position Overview
The facility's Radiation Oncology department is seeking a Radiation Therapist for an 8-week contract. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with variable day hours to accommodate patient treatment schedules. This is a 37.5-hour-per-week position with guaranteed hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients using advanced linear accelerator technology
- Perform patient simulation and positioning using CT imaging
- Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure proper documentation in the electronic health record system
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York state radiation therapy license
- Proficiency operating Varian linear accelerators for treatment delivery
- Knowledge of CT simulation procedures
- Competency with electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
