Medical Social Worker — Beverly, MA

13-Week Contract | 8-Hour Days | Weekends Included

This contract position places a Medical Social Worker as an integral part of an inpatient care coordination team, collaborating with RN case managers, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support patients across adult, geriatric, pediatric, and med/surg populations.

Shift Details

• 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, including weekends
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (excludes on-call time)
• Float between campuses possible

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments
• Provide supportive counseling to patients and families
• Lead discharge planning and community service coordination
• Conduct crisis intervention and collaborate with external agencies (protective services, child welfare, long-term care, hospice, behavioral health)
• Support patients managing chronic illness, substance use disorders, and psychiatric conditions

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
• Current Massachusetts licensure (LCSW or LICSW) required at time of submission
• Minimum one year of hospital-based or comparable fast-paced clinical experience
• BLS certification required
• Flu vaccine required during onboarding
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent, travel, or PRN capacity at any affiliated facility within the past six months

Experience with protective services, child welfare, hospice, substance use, and psychiatric populations is strongly preferred.
