Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct care in a high-volume setting, managing acute and emergent patient presentations across all acuity levels.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Monday–Friday or includes weekend rotation (to be confirmed)
Clinical Scope
You'll work in a busy emergency department handling a high volume of patient visits annually. Responsibilities include:
- Implementing and monitoring patient care plans
- Assessing patient conditions and communicating changes to the care team
- Coordinating care across multiple disciplines (nursing, physicians, ancillary services)
- Executing physician and nursing orders
- Planning and coordinating patient discharge needs
- Working with nursing staff, Patient Care Technicians, clerks, and transporters
The environment is fast-paced and requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently under pressure. You may participate in patient holding and boarding scenarios.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (required before hire)
- BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association) within 1 month of start date
- ALS certification (American Heart Association) within 6 months of start date
- PALS certification (American Heart Association) within 6 months of start date (if applicable)
