Pharmacist

Clinical Pharmacist | Richmond, VA | 24-Week Contract

This acute care pharmacy role supports a high-acuity patient population across multiple specialty service lines, including trauma, burn, critical care, pediatrics, cardiac surgery, and ECMO. The position is based in the main building pharmacy on day shift.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• No floating requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced pharmacotherapy management including Vancomycin AUC dosing, aminoglycoside dosing, renal dosing adjustments, and anticoagulation management (heparin, warfarin, enoxaparin, DOACs)
• Electrolyte protocol management
• IV order verification, medication verification, and IV compounding as needed
• Clinical decision support utilizing resources such as Sanford Guide, UpToDate, Lexicomp, Neofax, and Briggs

Requirements

• Active Virginia State Pharmacist license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with IV verification systems and automated dispensing technology
• Strong clinical background in complex patient populations (trauma, burn, critical care, peds, cardiac, ECMO preferred)

Dress Code

• Scrubs — silver or purple preferred

The pharmacy team is experienced and established, with an average pharmacist tenure of over 13 years. This opening has become available due to staff relocation.
