Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — Travel Contract

Saratoga Springs, NY | Nights | 13 Weeks

This is a night-shift RRT travel position covering a diverse patient population across the lifespan, from neonates through geriatrics. The role demands strong critical care and emergency respiratory skills in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 3×12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15
• Every third weekend; every other holiday
• 72-hour orientation

Clinical Scope

• Adult critical care and emergency department respiratory management
• Intubation assist, extubation, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
• Tracheostomy care and management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP
• Bag-mask ventilation, T-piece, trach collar
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Sputum specimen collection

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RRT license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NRPE certification
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Additional Requirements

• EKG competency exam required (must pass with ≥85% overall and 100% identification of critical rhythms)
• Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemption documentation must be submitted at least 2 weeks before start)
• Healthstream onboarding modules must be completed by 7:00 a.m. the Wednesday prior to the start date
• Floating within the facility may be required based on clinical skill set
