Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Night Shift
Position Details
- Shift: Night, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Location: Mount Vernon, OH
Role Overview
Join the PCU night team, where you'll provide skilled nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and frequent interventions. This role includes some ICU duties, giving you exposure to higher-acuity cases alongside typical progressive care patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care across the PCU with occasional ICU support
- Float within the facility and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
Requirements
- Valid state nursing license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or similar acute-care experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
Scheduling & Time Off
- Limited holiday time-off requests only; you may request 1 day surrounding 1 holiday
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
- No local candidates; candidates within 50 miles will be considered local rates
Onboarding
- Pre-start modules (approximately 4 hours, non-billable)
- Clinical orientation during assignment
- Additional billable modules may occur post-orientation, depending on role requirements
