Pediatric Emergency Department – Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's Pediatric Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for night shift work (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric patients and families in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a 13-week contract role.

Clinical Role & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients across acuity levels
• Manage a patient load of 1–4 based on acuity
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient and family outcomes
• Assess patient and family needs and deliver care aligned with ANA standards and Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines
• Adapt quickly to changing census and operational needs

Shift & Float Expectations

• Night shift: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Float across all ED sites and inpatient units (Specialty Pediatric Units, PICU, NICU, Transitional Care Unit) as needed based on census and staffing
• Rotation through Mental Health Crisis Center as part of ED RN duties
• Follow cooperative staffing guidelines

Requirements

• 2+ years of pediatric ED experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active, unrestricted RN license in Ohio (Compact license accepted)
• Current CPR and PALS certifications
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Recent manager or supervisor reference in your specialty
• Smoke-free facility
