Labor & Delivery RN – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join the labor and delivery team for a 13-week day shift assignment. This role is ideal for experienced OB nurses seeking a dynamic clinical environment with strong physician and anesthesia support.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 4 x 12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
- Weekends: 4 mandatory weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday)
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts monthly, in addition to scheduled shifts
- Flexibility: May be placed on call if not needed for scheduled shift; willing to float to perinatal areas as needed
- Time Off: Maximum 3 days off during the 13-week contract; no time off during first two weeks; one holiday request may be submitted but is not guaranteed
Requirements
- Minimum 2.5 years OB/L&D experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Active California RN license
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications
- Recent experience with sterile vaginal exams and high-risk patient management
- Advanced fetal monitoring experience and knowledge of CMQCC Category II algorithms
- Ability to recognize and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- C-section circulation experience
- Advanced EKG exam proficiency (80% minimum passing score required; onsite exam administered at start)

Clinical Scope
The unit includes , labor/delivery/recovery rooms, two operating rooms, NICU, and postpartum services. You'll care for low- and high-risk obstetric patients (neonates, adolescents, and adults) with support from 24 OB hospitalists and anesthesia staff.
