Registered Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Location: Saint Johnsbury, VT

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 6 weeks

Start Date: October 15, 2026

About the Role

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across all patient populations—neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric—in critical care, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. You will be the primary respiratory therapist on the night shift, working independently and managing a full scope of respiratory and cardiopulmonary services.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver oxygen therapy, mechanical and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, chest physiotherapy, and ABG collection
• Perform pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, and resuscitation support
• Conduct and support cardiac stress tests, Holter monitoring, ECGs, EEGs, and other diagnostic procedures
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory and diagnostic equipment
• Document all treatments and test results per hospital policy
• Support quality improvement and infection control initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Vermont Respiratory Care Practitioner license
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Minimum one year respiratory therapy experience; two years preferred
• Experience in acute care, critical care, and emergency care strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage emergent situations independently
• Flu vaccination required

• Reliable personal transportation essential; public transit and rideshare unavailable in the area
• Candidates responsible for securing housing; local resources available upon request
• Orientation begins mid-week; guaranteed hours 36 during first week
