Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Mayfield Heights, OH

This 18-week travel contract places you on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit providing care for cardiac-monitored patients across a range of acuity levels. The unit demands strong rhythm recognition skills and confident clinical judgment in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights, 3×12-hour shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Start date: November 13, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Active Ohio RN license (permanent or compact) — must be in hand at time of submission
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS also required
• One supervisor-level reference from the past 12 months (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director); co-worker references not accepted

Compliance & Onboarding

• ECG rhythm recognition assessment and medication safety evaluation completed during orientation; candidates receive a maximum of two attempts to pass
• Pre-start modules required (estimated 6–15 hours); 4 hours are compensable
• BCI/FBI fingerprints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Background and license history reviewed; no open cases or license hits accepted
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Nurses are currently exempt from nicotine-free requirements

Extensions

Travelers may extend continuously for up to 18 months; a 6-month break is required thereafter unless the facility grants an exception.
