Telemetry RN — Medical-Surgical Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract on the medical-surgical unit. This is a day shift role (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) working three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend required. Block schedules are approved but not mandatory.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekends: Every other weekend (6 shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Float: Yes — you'll float to other acute care departments within the facility
- On-call: No
Clinical Scope
The role emphasizes telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management of medical-surgical patients. Core competencies include:
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Central line and PICC line care
- IV initiation and management
- Blood product administration
- High-flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Heparin and IV insulin protocols
- Feeding tube management
- Wound care and wound VAC
- Rapid response team coordination
Requirements
- Seasoned travel experience (at least one prior travel contract required)
- Minimum 1 year as an RN
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Valid compact license at submission
- 2 professional references (1 year of experience within the last 3 years)
Uniform
Solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms (piping permitted).
