Med Surg Tele

Medical/Surgical Telemetry — Travel RN | Night Shift | Maryville, TN

This 13-week night shift contract places you in a step-down/progressive care telemetry unit managing adult patients with higher acuity medical needs. No ventilators or vasopressor support — this is a true step-down environment focused on cardiac monitoring, drip management, and complex medical care.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required (subject to change based on unit need)
• Float to similar med/surg units may be required

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Patients with high oxygen demands, atrial fibrillation, dialysis needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
• Drips managed: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
• Telemetry monitoring on unit and remotely
• Skills utilized: BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, pacemaker management (temporary/permanent), pre/post cardiac cath care, heparin protocols, ABG interpretation, wound care/wound vac, and peritoneal dialysis

Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or progressive care experience
• Minimum 1 year of electronic medical records experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: November 2, 2026
• Orientation begins on a Monday; pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable)
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
