Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse — Wichita, KS
This is a night-shift Medical-Surgical travel contract based in Wichita, KS, ideal for an experienced med-surg nurse comfortable managing a diverse general acute care patient population.
Assignment Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4 x 12 nights)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; no on-call
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
- Scrubs: Ceil blue
Clinical Scope
This med-surg unit manages a broad range of adult medical and surgical patients across varying acuity levels. Candidates should be proficient in EKG interpretation and point-of-care glucose testing. Float coverage to similar units at other Wichita campuses may be required.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required at submission)
- License/certificate verification required at submission
- Skills checklist and two professional references required at submission
Onboarding Requirements Include
- Color vision screening
- Core competency assessment
- EKG exam
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza
- TB testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-spot)
- Fit test, health statement
- Background check and drug screen (11-panel)
