Medical-Surgical Nurse | Night Shift | Wichita, KS
This 13-week contract placement is for an experienced Medical-Surgical RN joining a busy inpatient unit in Wichita, KS. The position offers consistent night shift hours with no on-call requirement.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No call obligations
- Guaranteed 48 hours per week
Unit Overview
The Med-Surg unit manages a diverse general acute care patient population across a range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Candidates should be comfortable working at a steady pace with patients of varying acuity. Float coverage may be required to similar units on the same campus or at another campus within the Wichita area.

Onboarding Requirements Include
- EKG competency exam
- Point-of-care glucose testing competency
- Core competency assessment
- Immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza)
- TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
- Respiratory fit test
- Background check and drug screen (11-panel)
- Color vision screening
Ideal Candidate
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Kansas (or compact eligibility)
- Prior Med-Surg experience preferred
- Comfortable floating to like units within the same health system
