Emergency Department RN

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Every other weekend | Wednesday off

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an RN to deliver rapid, comprehensive care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. You'll work across a broad spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, from trauma activations and codes to routine urgent cases.

Key Responsibilities

• and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, treatments, and emergency interventions
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and patient deterioration with appropriate clinical action
• Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members on care planning
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols in a high-volume setting

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required
• 1+ years of ER nursing experience
• Proficiency with protocols and high-acuity environments
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate interventions

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)

This schedule offers flexibility—work 6 shifts in a row and enjoy 8 consecutive days off.
