Night Shift Med/Surg Travel Nurse
Position Overview
Join the interdisciplinary team on a medical-surgical unit providing care to patients across multiple specialties including neurology, orthopedics, and general surgery. You'll work nights as part of a collaborative nursing team.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend
- 13-week contract with orientation dates October 26 or November 9
- Winter holiday requirement: You must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day). One day off is permitted during 11/25–11/29 and 12/23–12/27.
Clinical Details
- Float responsibility to other med/surg areas required
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Heparin experience essential
Requirements
- 1.5+ years of nursing experience
- Active Iowa or compact state RN license
- Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
- Active NIHSS certification
- Valid driver's license
- Supervisory reference form (completed within 2 years)
- Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Tele
- First-time travelers welcome
Eligibility Note
Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (verified by driver's license). Prior employees of this facility cannot work travel assignments in this market within 12 months.
