Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Greeneville, TN

13-Week Travel Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12)

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a range of diagnoses including general medical-surgical, orthopedics, urology, gastrology, respiratory conditions, and comfort care. Travelers will float to similar Med/Surg patient populations as needed.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:30–07:00, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• Census-based flex is possible; the facility may cancel one shift biweekly without financial penalty per the work commitment schedule

Patient Care

• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, and radiology
• Travelers are expected to support nursing student clinical education alongside direct patient care

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS — AHA certification only; no other formats accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills

Key Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry monitoring, port access, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula
• Blood product administration, PICC/central line care, tracheostomy management
• Wound care/wound vac, heparin, insulin drips, surgical drains

Important Compliance Requirements

• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area
• EKG competency test required within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts maximum)
• Drug screening must be completed 12–14 days prior to start
• Orientation begins Sundays (online modules); 16 hours non-billable
• Fit testing required; facial hair must meet CDC guidelines
