Med/Surg RN – Night Shift | Garden City, KS

13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This Med/Surg unit manages a diverse medical patient population with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, ia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. RNs are expected to titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives. Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilation.

Schedule & Expectations

• 12-hour night shifts; 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: yes
• Float: first to float; may float within the zone if extreme need arises
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS certification

Additional Details

• Charge nurse takes an assignment; nurse aides present on the unit
• No telemetry monitor techs; RNs manage rhythm interpretation independently
• Navy blue scrubs required
• BSN not required; valid state license required for submission
• In-state presence required for the full week of orientation
• Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
