Labor & Delivery / Maternity Care — Travel RN
Salem, VA | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Contract
This Maternity Care Center is a full-service OB unit offering Labor & Delivery, postpartum/GYN, OR suites, and a wellborn nursery. The unit is staffed around the clock with dedicated L&D nurses, couplet nurses, a birth response nurse, and scrub techs.
Clinical Scope
- Cesarean sections (circulator, 1st assist, and scrub experience preferred)
- Postpartum and newborn care (couplet assignment)
- OBED and labor inductions
- Collaborative practice with midwives
Required Qualifications
- Prior OB experience required
- Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications
- Cesarean section circulator, 1st assist, or scrub experience is a plus
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday nights)
- No on-call requirement for travel staff; extra shift opportunities may be available
- Float stays within the maternity unit only
