Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 16-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a pediatric intensive care unit serving high-acuity patients across the PICU and a stepdown setting. The unit manages a complex patient population requiring advanced monitoring and hands-on critical care intervention.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture assist, and central line dressing changes
• Hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management
• Trach care and tube feeding/placement

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• Must work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling cycle
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Float requirement: Peds and NICU as needed
• HUC coverage 09:00–21:00; tech shared with PICU

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• PALS certification required
• Active RN license applicable to North Carolina

Contract Details

• Duration: 16 weeks
• Start date: October 8, 2026

Dress Code

• All navy, all white, or navy pants with white top

This is a strong placement for a PICU-experienced nurse comfortable with critically ill pediatric patients and the full scope of invasive monitoring and airway management.
