NICU

Special Care Nursery (SCN) | Nights | Concord, NH

This 13-week travel contract places you in a Special Care Nursery integrated within a Labor & Delivery unit. The SCN cares for neonates born at 32 weeks gestation and above, with a typical census of 2–5 patients.

Shift Details

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week | 36 guaranteed hours weekly

Clinical Scope

• Care for premature and special care neonates (32 weeks and above)
• Attend vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Administer surfactant via LMA to appropriate candidates
• Start neonatal IVs and manage grower-feeder patients
• Collaborate with a shift team of 8–9 RNs, including SCN-trained specialists

Float

Occasional float to postpartum or pediatrics is possible but unlikely for travelers. Clinicians without appropriate experience will function in a helping-hands capacity only.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in NICU or Level 2 SCN
• Comfort assisting with deliveries and performing neonatal procedures
• Postpartum experience preferred but not required
• Electronic charting experience preferred but not required
