Registered Nurse – ICU

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its intensive care unit. You'll provide direct, comprehensive care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate care as needed
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
• Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and care needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow infection control and safety protocols for high-acuity patients
• Supervise and mentor licensed and non-licensed staff as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• 2+ years acute care ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with critical care equipment and titratable drips
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and advanced airway management

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• CCRN certification
• Electronic health record experience
