RN – Float Pool (Med/Surg/Telemetry)

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract: 13 weeks

Location: West Burlington, IA

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week with overtime available

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an RN to support multiple inpatient units during surge periods. You'll work across medical/surgical, telemetry, behavioral health, and emergency department settings, providing direct patient care and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Clinical Scope

You'll care for geriatric, adult, medical/surgical, psychiatric, and telemetry patients using the full nursing process. Telemetry experience is essential—you must self-study dysrhythmia strips upon acceptance and pass a basic dysrhythmia competency test during orientation.

Float Requirements

You may float to non-critical care inpatient units across the West Burlington campus and occasionally to Fort Madison or Henry County campuses. If you hold critical care credentials, you may also float to the CCU or ICU. The emergency department may request support during patient boarding situations.

Staffing Ratios

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS certification
• EMR experience in a similar unit within the past 12 months
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations
• On-call availability during low-census periods (respond within 1 hour)
