Float Pool Nurse — Medical/Surgical Telemetry

West Burlington, IA | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 13-Week Contract

This float pool position supports surge coverage across multiple inpatient units. Travelers will float to non-critical care inpatient areas, including Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Behavioral Health, and the Emergency Department (for boarded patients). Nurses with critical care experience may also float to the CCU or ICU. Occasional travel to nearby campuses may be required.

Patient Populations Served:

• Adult, Geriatric, Medical/Surgical
• Telemetry
• Psychiatric/Behavioral Health

Schedule & Hours:

• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week; overtime possible
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Occasional on-call during low census periods; must be able to arrive on-site within one hour if called in

Clinical Requirements:

• ACLS certification required
• Recent experience in a comparable unit within the last 12 months required
• Upon acceptance, travelers must self-study telemetry strips; a Basic Dysrhythmia test-out is administered during the first week of orientation and must be passed to work in this float pool

Onboarding Requirements:

• Current RN license (verification required at submission)
• Skills checklist, background check, drug screen, and health history documentation required prior to start
• Immunization records required: Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB

This role is well-suited for adaptable nurses comfortable in fast-paced, high-variability environments across diverse patient populations.
