Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility seeks an RN to provide comprehensive care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit. You'll work with adult patients managing a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, applying evidence-based practice and the nursing process to deliver patient-centered care in a collaborative, healing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, considering individual culture, age, and developmental needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift, with assignments adjusted by acuity and staffing
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are consistently followed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred

Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• 20-week contract
• Start date: September 24, 2026
