Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 3rd shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12s

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

You'll join a busy Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. This role offers clinical autonomy within scope of practice and the opportunity to work alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, and nursing rounds
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the care team on discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Actively participate in unit quality improvement and core measures

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required
• 1+ years of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
