Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). You'll provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric and young adult patients (up to age 25) in a fast-paced PICU environment.

Clinical Scope

This role involves:

• Continuous monitoring and specialized care of high-acuity pediatric patients
• Epilepsy monitoring and seizure management
• EKG interpretation and inotrope management
• Comprehensive assessments and interventions for critically ill children and adolescents

Requirements

• License: Current permanent Ohio license or compact state license (required at time of submission)
• Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent PICU nursing experience
• Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NIHSS preferred
• Availability: Must work at least every other holiday

Orientation & Assessment

You'll complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation. Both must be passed; you'll have a maximum of two attempts.

Contract Terms

• 13-week initial contract
• Night shift (3×12-hour blocks)
• Extensions available for up to 18 months; a 6-month break follows unless deferred by the facility
• Background clearance required; BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing

Submission Requirements

Strong manager or supervisor references from work within the past 12 months are required. Certifications must be active and in hand at submission.
