Interventional Rad Tech
Interventional Radiology Technologist | Charleston, WV | 13-Week Contract
This travel opportunity places an experienced Angiography Tech in a high-acuity interventional vascular radiology suite performing a broad range of complex procedures.
Schedule
- 4x10-hour days, Monday–Friday, typically 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- On-call rotation: approximately 8 days/month, including 1 weekend/month (5–6 weekend shifts per contract); 30-minute response time required
- 2-hour call-back minimum
- 40 hours/week guaranteed
Clinical Scope
The suite manages a diverse procedural caseload including peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention, acute stroke intervention, and embolization. Additional procedures include IVC filter placement/removal, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, dialysis graft interventions, TAVR, and various stent placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fluoroscopy operation and equipment setup/maintenance
- Scrub and circulate; maintain sterile field
- EKG lead placement and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Access site preparation; vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- PACS operation; inventory and supply management
Float Requirement
One week of floating to a nearby sister facility (approximately 2 miles away) is required during the contract.
Requirements
- ARRT (R) required; ARRT (VI) preferred — no RCIS accepted
- Active WV state license required prior to start (pending accepted for submission)
- BLS required (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of IR/angiography experience
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (60–99 miles considered case-by-case)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
