Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract. You'll work a day shift (06:30–17:00) performing 8–10 diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases daily in a high-acuity setting.

Schedule & Call

  • 4 x 10-hour days per week
  • On-call requirement with 30-minute response time
  • Call rotation: Friday 7:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM (alternating AM/PM and backup positions)
  • Weekend coverage: Call only
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
  • Orientation held every other Thursday

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, including structural procedures
  • Active West Virginia license required at start (pending license accepted for submission; must become active before assignment begins)
  • ARRT registration required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
  • Two manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
  • Permanent address within 100 miles of the facility (75–100 miles considered on case-by-case basis)

Clinical Scope

You'll perform scrub and circulator duties including diagnostic catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), PTAC, stent placement, cardiac implant closure procedures, IABP placement/removal, and dysrhythmia interpretation. Responsibilities include equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, isolation precautions, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
