Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
About the Role
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for a 13-week contract on the night shift. You'll work 3×12-hour shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with weekday and some weekend coverage, providing respiratory care across critical care and general care units.
Clinical Scope
You'll manage adult and pediatric patients, performing intubation assistance, extubation support, airway management, tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation weaning, and high-flow oxygen delivery. You'll troubleshoot ventilator alarms, place and suction nasal and oral airways, and collect sputum specimens. Floating within scope to other departments as needed is expected.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience (first-timers accepted)
- Current RRT or CRT credential
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required)
- NALS for pediatric cases
- West Virginia or Compact license; pending licenses accepted
- Fit test completion required prior to start
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1–March 31); medical exemptions only
- COVID vaccine not required
Scheduling & Logistics
- Guaranteed 72–80 hours per pay period
- Orientations held every other Thursday
- Free parking
- 100-mile radius required; 75–100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis
- RTO requests must be submitted two weeks in advance for manager approval
Submission Requirements
Submit a single PDF containing: work history, specialty skills checklist, two manager/charge nurse references (past 2 years), license verification, driver's license, and SSN. Full file due by noon the Monday prior to start.
